Targeted Development of Sustainability and Compliance 

We began systematically developing our sustainability work in autumn 2023. In 2024, we conducted a stakeholder survey to identify expectations for our sustainability development. 

At the end of 2024, we introduced a Legal Compliance model at the group level to ensure compliance with legislation and other requirements at all levels. This model supports internal control and risk management. 

We operate according to the Reliable Partner principles. Our partners can check our up-to-date compliance status through Vastuu Group. 

Environmental Responsibility as Part of Our Operations

In 2025, we are building an ISO 14001-compliant environmental management system. We are developing our practices to systematically identify and manage environmental impacts, focusing on continuous improvement and operational transparency. Our goal is to certify the system once it meets the set requirements and supports our long-term sustainability efforts.

Chemical and Radiation Safety

We sell water treatment and analytical chemicals, which we handle and store in compliance with legislation. Hyxo has an appointed Chemical Safety Officer responsible for fulfilling obligations, providing staff guidance, and keeping information up to date.

We also sell certain radiation-emitting devices. We have an appointed and trained Radiation Safety Officer and an external expert. We operate according to our radiation safety program as part of our quality system.

Waste and Packaging Material Recycling

We pay close attention to the amount of waste generated in storage and logistics and to recycling efficiency. We recycle everything possible and use recyclable materials whenever feasible.

We are a registered member of Sumi Oy’s producer organization and monitor waste quantity, quality, and waste management costs at the group level. Our staff is instructed on sorting and encouraged to make responsible choices in their daily work.

Operating Principles Guide All Our Actions

We operate according to documented business principles (Code of Business Conduct) and expect the same from our partners. We aim to identify risks and opportunities early and develop our practices in collaboration with stakeholders.

In 2025, we will introduce a Supplier Code of Business Conduct. We have also defined sponsorship, donation, and hospitality principles that support responsible business practices.

Hyxo has been operating a quality management system based on ISO 9001:2015 since 1996. The system covers all company operations and supports continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and operational predictability.

We value openness, trust, and high ethics in all our activities. We have a whistleblowing channel for anonymously reporting suspected misconduct.
